Do you know what is Gestational Diabetes? According to what i read when a woman has high blood sugar only while she is pregnant, it is a special type called Gestational Diabetes. Usually the blood sugar is kept in the normal range by insulin made by the body. Most of the time, pregnant women make more insulin to lower the blood sugar. However, some women cannot do this, and these are the women who develop gestational diabetes. This usually occurs in the second half of pregnancy. This is very true since this is my second child, i am overweight a little bit, and i use birth control pills before. I already loss some pounds while eating small amount of food every meal. I tried to lower my sugar and do not need a medicine for it. There are 1-3 times that i have high sugar because i eat lots of dessert. I learned how to eat just enough to keep you going everyday. You can see the pyramid above and that is how i eat but not all of it since i really did not like milk, chocolate, and any other very sweet foods. I am now trying to control my eating habit for the sake of my baby.
Eating healthy is the vital of us not to get sick. Since last year we are on and off of our healthy eating habits. We still eat many vegetables and fruits but we also eat out and eat some sweet delicacy. I am not sure why but maybe because we attended many parties. In the parties you can find many foods like meats, sweets and other yummy foods. I eat only a little but that little makes me sick and hubby. Our body seems to give up on us. Hubby got sick from not getting back fully to his original diet which was the semi-vegetarian diet. I found a site in which i got this tips for healthy eating.
* Simplify. Instead of being overly concerned with counting calories or measuring portion sizes, think of your diet in terms of color, variety and freshness—then it should be easier to make healthy choices. Focus on finding foods you love and easy recipes that incorporate a few fresh ingredients. Gradually, your diet will become healthier and more delicious.
* Start slow and make changes to your eating habits over time. Trying to make your diet healthy overnight isn’t realistic or smart. Changing everything at once usually leads to cheating or giving up on your new eating plan. Make small steps, like adding a salad (full of different color vegetables) to your diet once a day or switching from butter to olive oil when cooking. As your small changes become habit, you can continue to add more healthy choices to your diet.
* Every change you make to improve your diet matters. You don’t have to be perfect and you don’t have to completely eliminate foods you enjoy to have a healthy diet. The long term goal is to feel good, have more energy and reduce the risk of cancer and disease. Don’t let your missteps derail you—every healthy food choice you make counts. Source: Help Guide
Do you have a high blood pressure? I ask that since i will talk about it today. In my family history my mom told me that nobody died but if we talk about heart problem there are many. I am concern of my mom about it because she always have some trouble about her health. Few months ago she got sick and my brother brought her in the hospital. They said that she has a mild heart attack. She cannot breath properly and when they checked her in the hospital the result was she has a high blood pressure. After she came out from the hospital there are many things she needs to do so that she will not have another problem. She drinks a lot of coffee every morning and eat some unhealthy food. Salt and pork will hurt you it is not that i am against it but if you eat just very little. She drops the pork this time and not drinking any coffee. I ask her to have a wider garden to eat many veggies. Do you have any high blood pressure problem?
It has been awhile since my last post of this health blog of mine. I will tell you about many things specially what i did to my diet. I got pregnant last May and i will deliver my baby this coming February. If you are pregnant your doctor will does a lot of check ups and test to make it sure you are healthy and your baby. Before i got pregnant i gained more than ten pounds maybe because i ate too much or i did something that my weight goes up. The first time they weigh me i am surprise i weighed 148.5 pounds. That was a huge weigh that i need to do something for it but i am also need to make it sure i am doing right since i can hurt my baby if i did something bad. They check my blood pressure and i am perfectly great i guess it was 110/60. I am lack of iron so they give me an iron supplement for me to take once or twice a day. Then it is important that my baby is healthy so they also give me the multivitamins. Anyway, i will tell you more about it…Have a great day to all.
